Caring Community | CIS Kitchen: Expertise and Care in Every Meal
In an international school, every detail beyond the classroom also carries the warmth of education. For students from around the world, daily meals are not only about nutrition and food safety, but also about feeling respected, cared for, and supported in their everyday school life.

By stepping into the CIS Foshan school kitchen, we hope to present this visible care through real and thoughtful details.
The primary food supplier for the CIS school kitchen is METRO. As a global professional food supply system, METRO follows established standards in food sourcing, cold-chain transportation, and quality management. This stable and traceable supply system provides a solid foundation for the safety and quality of the school’s daily meals.
Every morning, work in the kitchen begins with careful inspection of ingredients. The culinary team conducts thorough checks on vegetables, meats, and other daily deliveries by observing their appearance, smell, and condition to ensure freshness, safety, and suitability for use. This process serves as the first and most essential safeguard in the school kitchen’s daily operations.

In addition, the school kitchen follows a daily food sample retention procedure. After each meal is prepared and served, samples of the dishes are properly stored, sealed, and labeled with the date and time. These samples are kept for inspection and traceability when necessary, further ensuring food safety for all students and staff.
The CIS school kitchen serves students and staff from more than 30 countries and regions.
To meet the diverse needs of this international community, the team designs balanced and varied menus based on students’ ages and nutritional requirements, while regularly introducing different international food themes.
Notably, the school is supported by a dedicated pastry chef who prepares freshly baked bread and pastries every day, allowing students to enjoy healthy, freshly made baked goods on campus.
Once the meals are prepared, they move into the distribution stage. The kitchen team organizes meal portions according to different grade levels and dining schedules, ensuring consistency in temperature, portion size, and hygiene standards. This allows students to enjoy their meals in a safe, orderly, and comfortable environment.

Professional Recognition
Built Over Time
This long-term commitment to detail and quality has earned professional recognition. The CIS Foshan culinary team was awarded the Gold Award at the 6th CIEO Canadian International Education Organization Culinary Competition, recognizing not only their culinary skills but also their excellence in campus food management and teamwork.

Daily meals may seem ordinary, but they reflect the school’s long-term commitment to students’ health, safety, and overall development. Through professionalism and responsibility, the CIS Foshan school kitchen safeguards one of the most reassuring sources of well-being on campus.
