CIS Innovation Fair | Innovation Recap: AI and Sustainability in Focus

On March 25, CIS Foshan held its annual Innovation Fair.
The campus was full of ideas around technology and sustainability. From AI and energy projects to smart systems and eco-friendly solutions, students showed how technology can help both people and the planet.

The event started at W Hall. Head of School Mr. Nathan encouraged students to explore and learn through action.
Then, music teacher Mr. V and students from Grades 1–8 brought an energetic rhythm performance that warmed up the whole space.

Dr. Wang, a CIS parent, MIT PhD, and AI expert at Midea Central Research Institute, delivered a talk on the integration of AI and education.

Grade 7 student representative JT also shared his journey of exploration and reflection in innovation learning.

From ECE to secondary school, students integrated technology and AI with creativity and environmental awareness, presenting a vibrant showcase of sustainable innovation.

Young learners engaged in hands-on activities such as material-based creations, cup crafts, tent building, and basic programming. Through exploration and play, they developed creativity while discovering materials, mechanics, and technology in action.

Elementary students integrated the IB PYP approach into their projects, exploring ideas through hands-on experiences such as plant-based perfume recycling, vertical gardens, cardboard workshops, dream school models, robotic hands, rocket models, and upcycling.
Through these projects, they combined technology, AI, and sustainability, demonstrating strong creativity and practical skills.

Secondary students explored sustainability and technological innovation across multiple fields, including energy solutions, product design, health technology, and structural safety.
Their projects reflected deeper inquiry, critical thinking, and a strong sense of responsibility toward future challenges.

The special exhibition featured color formulation books, AI and robotics displays, and 3D printing works.
By integrating technology with sustainable practices in creative production, energy management, and resource optimization, the zone highlighted diverse possibilities for the future.

The CIS Innovation Fair is not only a platform for technological creativity, but also a meaningful educational practice connecting the AI era with a sustainable future.
