On March 21, CIS Foshan· Innovation Academy (CIS Innovation Academy) will host an Open Day in collaboration with Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts.
This event is designed for students and families interested in pursuing an art-focused education. Through expert guidance on university applications, campus tours, and one-on-one consultations, participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of diverse pathways for higher education in the arts.
Students currently in Grades 8–10 (ages 13–16) and their families are welcome to join.

Mr. Wu Zongjian, Dean of the City School of Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, will join us to share insights on international art education trends and the impact of strategic collaboration on students’ academic pathways and creative growth.

Mr. Li Ling from Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts will provide professional guidance for parents and students on studying art abroad. He will systematically cover the application process, portfolio preparation, language and exam requirements, and key timelines. Real-life examples will help participants clearly understand how to plan both academic and artistic development, laying a solid foundation for future applications.

With 11 years of experience in international art education, he has been a founding team member at several international schools and has also served as a principal, bringing extensive experience in university admissions guidance.

Visiting families will have the opportunity for one-on-one consultations with senior faculty from Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts. Professors will review students’ portfolios, interests, and academic backgrounds, providing professional feedback and development advice. This session helps students refine their creative ideas, optimize portfolios, and gain deeper insights into the development paths of different art disciplines.

Visiting families can tour the CIS “Creative Academy” International Arts High School studios to experience an open and inspiring art-learning environment up close. They can also participate in the “Paper, Please!” art workshop led by Professor Zhou Ying, a senior mentor from Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts.

Professor Zhou Ying will guide participants to start from fashion design inspiration and become “paper fashion designers.” Through cutting, folding, and shaping, they will create unique three-dimensional designs on dress forms, transforming two-dimensional ideas into tangible, three-dimensional fashion expressions.
