Join German Summer Camp and dive into the essence of Bauhaus design while exploring modernist culture in Germany! From Berlin to Munich, participate in a series of creative workshops, design projects, and cultural experiences, embarking on a meaningful journey of art and design. Designed for teens aged 14-18, the courses are customizable based on individual needs, offering a unique opportunity to experience Bauhaus history and innovation, with valuable hands-on experience and a certificate of participation.

01 Main Project 1: BerlinBauhaus Museum Workshop Education Program

 

1. For Lemon Tattoo: Standardization and Personalization Course

Based on Bauhaus graphics, what kind of tattoo designs can you create? With the help of augmented reality technology, study the relationship between the graphics and the human body; in Johannes Itten's beginner course, try using a real tattoo machine for lemon tattoos.

2. 3D Printing or Color Design

How do colors and shapes interact with each other?

What are the differences between various printing techniques and materials?

After learning the theory, you'll put your designs into practice by transferring them onto textiles.

3. Berlin Sightseeing Tour:

Bauhaus Architectural Complex, Humboldt University, Berlin Wall Memorial Park, Museum Island Berlin, Reichstag Building, Brandenburg Gate, Sanssouci Palace in Potsdam, and more.

02 Main Project 2: Dessau Bauhaus Museum/Foundation  Professional Education Program

1. "Chair Design" Workshop

Gain in-depth knowledge of the designer's design process and learn four methods that help in finding creative ideas. New concepts for chair furniture design, such as sketches and small models, will emerge.

2. "BUCHbar" Workshop

In the "BUCHbar" workshop, participants will gain an in-depth understanding of the essence of Bauhaus typography design. In practice, we will explore how a sheet of paper can be transformed into a book.

3. "Balloon Bouquet" Workshop

By creatively using sculpting balloons, we will explore the deeper expressiveness of simple objects. In addition to the basics of three-dimensional design, we will also conduct an in-depth study of shapes and materials.

03 Main Project 3: Weimar"Designer-Maker-Utopian" Educational Program

 

1. "Designer-Maker-Utopian" Educational Program (3-day)

Analyze the methods and ideas of the utopians, designers, and visionaries of Weimar's modernist silver age, and explore Henry van de Velde's design approach.

In this project, we will explore and learn together: the concept of Gesamtkunstwerk (total work of art) and its application in dining events; the impact of specially designed tableware, personalized invitations, unique seating arrangements, and schedules on participants, sparking thoughts on the creative possibilities of table exhibitions.

2. Residential Space Design

Understand the design and architectural space concepts of Bauhaus; familiarize yourself with design methods and try hands-on proportional modeling; reflect on the social and ecological aspects of architecture and propose your own solutions.

3 Handmade Book Design and Production

In the historical workshop of Weimar bookbinding master Otto Dorfner at the Museum Neues Weimar, we will learn and attempt to design and create a book of our own.

04 Main Itinerary 4: Munich & Füssen

 

1. Munich & Füssen Sightseeing Tour:

Visit and tour Munich University of Applied Sciences, BMW Museum, BMW World, Allianz Arena, Deutsches Museum, and Neuschwanstein Castle in Füssen.

Target Audience for Summer Camp:

Teens aged 14-18

Registration and Inquiries:

The courses in the above projects can be personalized according to needs. Specific project schedules and destinations may be adjusted based on factors such as weather, flights, etc.

Participants in the Bauhaus Museum Workshop will receive a certificate of participation upon completion of the program.
