Academic Excellence | "Winning Achievement! CIS Students Shine in the 2025 Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC)"

CIS is honored to be the official testing center for the 2025 Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC).

In the competition held this September, students from grades 10 and 11 at CIS actively participated, embraced challenges, and demonstrated solid mathematical foundations and flexible thinking. Their outstanding performance led to four students winning the “National Mathematics Skills Award”! This achievement is a testament to CIS students’ ongoing pursuit of excellence.

The Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC), organized by the Australian Maths Trust (AMT), is a mathematics contest for students from Grades 3 to 12. 

Since its launch in 1978, the competition has been held in schools across Australia and around the world.

Each year, experts from the education and academic sectors carefully design the exam to challenge and extend students’ problem-solving abilities. The questions cover a wide range of topics, including arithmetic, fractions and ratios, algebra, geometry, measurement, statistics, and probability.

Recognized as one of the oldest, largest, and most prestigious school-based mathematics competitions in Australia, the AMC is widely embraced by schools both domestically and internationally.

This outstanding achievement not only reflects the students' continuous efforts in their mathematical studies but also embodies CIS’s educational goal of “Academic Excellence, Caring Community.” CIS students have successfully pushed their limits and showcased exceptional mathematical talent through their solid foundations and flexible thinking.
