CIS News | Incoming Middle School Principal to Assume Office Soon
Caeyu International School of Foshan (CISFS) is pleased to announce that Mr. Ted Barks will join us as our incoming Secondary Principal, effective August 2026.
Mr. Ted Barks
Mr. Barks brings more than 30 years of international educational experience across primary, middle, secondary, and alternative settings in Canada, New Zealand, Macau, and Guangzhou.
He currently serves as Secondary Principal at the Canadian International School of Guangzhou (CISGZ), which, like CISFS, is part of the Canadian International Educational Organization (CIEO). Over the past five years, he has played a key role in strengthening academic excellence and cultivating a positive, inclusive school culture.
His leadership experience includes roles as Principal, Vice Principal, and Director of Curriculum. He has also completed the Harvard Business School Certificate Program, Leading Change and Organizational Renewal, further enhancing his capacity to lead strategic change, foster innovation, and guide sustained school improvement.

Mr. Barks holds a Bachelor of Education with Distinction. In addition, as a lifelong learner, he has completed 26 university-level courses throughout his career across a range of institutions worldwide, spanning disciplines from forensic science and engineering to educational leadership, educational psychology, and sport psychology. He has also been seconded by Ministries of Education in both Canada and New Zealand to support the development of mathematics and science curriculum resources.
His breadth of international experience, commitment to high-quality learning, and collaborative leadership style align strongly with CISFS’s vision of developing globally minded, confident, and compassionate learners.
