Great News|CIS Foshan Jiayou International School is now an official candidate for the IB PYP! A significant global recognition of our educational excellence
This marks another significant milestone in the development of Caeyu International School of Foshan! We have officially received approval from the International Baccalaureate Organization (IB) and become a candidate school for the IB PYP (Primary Years Programme).
To date, CIS has received multiple international accreditations, including those from Alberta Education, and the Cambridge international curriculum.
Our IB PYP candidate status is achieved by integrating the rigorous academic standards of the Alberta curriculum with the inquiry-driven spirit and international educational philosophy of the IB PYP. This strong combination of two globally recognized educational frameworks creates a more in-depth and expansive learning pathway for our students.

IB: One of the most influential international education programs in the world.

What does it mean to become an IB PYP candidate school?
Becoming an IB PYP candidate school means that CIS has successfully undergone a comprehensive evaluation by IB, covering the school’s vision, curriculum preparedness, teaching methods, teacher professional development, and campus culture. This qualifies CIS to move into the PYP implementation phase.
For CIS, this qualification signifies:
The existing international curriculum system aligns well with the PYP educational philosophy
The teaching team has the necessary international education experience and professional development mechanisms
Teaching practices are student-centered, supporting inquiry-based learning
The campus culture and management system can provide stable support for the implementation of PYP

CIS: Rooted in International Standards, Expanding Global Perspectives
CIS is an all-age international school accredited by both the Alberta Education System of Canada and the Cambridge International Curriculum. For many years, the school has built a clear and coherent academic development pathway based on authoritative international curriculum standards.

In an English immersion environment, students naturally improve their English proficiency and academic expression skills through daily learning and collaboration, preparing them for the transition to higher-level international curricula and global university admissions.
The school continuously integrates inquiry-based learning and interdisciplinary concepts into its teaching practices. Through project-based and thematic learning, students are guided to connect knowledge, solve real-world problems, and develop higher-order thinking skills. The multicultural teaching team brings diverse perspectives and rich experiences to the classroom, helping students develop a global outlook and an open mindset from an early age.

Under the guidance of the IB framework, CIS will continuously optimize the curriculum structure for students aged 3 to 12, refine inquiry unit designs and learning assessments, and deepen the understanding and practice of the IB PYP philosophy through ongoing professional development for teachers.
CIS looks forward to working together with all students, teachers, and parents to build a learning community that supports students in asking questions, thinking creatively, trying new things, and taking responsibility. Our goal is to nurture a new generation of learners who possess academic excellence, social responsibility, and a global perspective.
